Why Natures Fuels?

A carbon negative company that cares about our planet for future generations
At Natures Fuels, we care passionately about creating a sustainable future for our planet and the generations of people who will follow us. Our kiln dried wood is sourced within 80 miles of our wood yard - the majority from within half that distance - and every tree we use has been replaced by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)® or nature.

This makes Natures Fuels one of the most sustainable providers of natural wood fuel in the UK.

We are proud to say we are a carbon negative business – removing more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere than we add to it.

We recycle all our packaging and use zero plastic and we have set a goal that all our vehicles will be powered by renewable electricity by 2023.

Kiln dried wood made by Natures Fuels and powered by our 100% renewable bio-gas boiler

To make our Kiln Dried wood, we transfer waste heat from our bio-gas boiler to our in-house kiln drier. This reduces the water content of our wood to 20% or less making it a premium quality, ‘Ready to Burn’ natural fuel.

Maximal Heat Optimal Burn

The low moisture content of our kiln dried wood guarantees a more efficient long lasting burn – around two times hotter than an average seasoned log - so you can snuggle up and enjoy that warm cosy comfort for longer.

Clean cut fuel

Cut to a maximum length of 25cm, our kiln dried wood fits 99% of wood-burning or multi-fuel stoves. It also limits the amount of soot, tar and ash that builds up in your chimney or flue and will keep the glass on your stove or wood burner clear.

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)® credited

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)® logo on a forest product is your assurance that it is made with, or contains, forest-based materials from FSC®-certified forests or reclaimed sources.

The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is a global, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of responsible forest management worldwide. FSC defines standards based on agreed principles for responsible forest stewardship that are supported by environmental, social, and economic stakeholders. To learn more, visit www.fsc.org

We are a Woodsure Approved Kiln Dried Wood Manufacturer

From February 2021 it’s illegal to burn wood that has a moisture content level higher than 20%.

Natures Fuels is part of ‘Woodsure,’ a certification scheme making it easier to source drier wood with lower pollution impact. The wood is verified by independent inspectors for conforming moisture content of up to 20%, meaning it burns with less smoke than wetter wood, releasing around half the emissions into the environment. This firewood is classed as Woodsure ‘Ready to Burn.’ To learn more, visit www.woodsure.co.uk
